Yu Suzuki "retires" from SEGA, but not really.

From Kotaku:

The creator of titles like Virtua Fighter, OutRun and Shenmue has "retired" from his Creative Officer position at Sega of Japan, Sega announced this week. But the company isn't done with Yu Suzuki just yet.

While Sega-Sammy notes that Suzuki has "retired" from his role as Creative Officer of the AM Plus R&D department, he'll still have some influence at Sega. The developer will continue on as manager of that group, in a role that GameSpot, by way of Sega reps, says is of "diminished capacity."

Suzuki's employment at Sega was called into question last year, when Sega of America boss Simon Jeffery indicated that the creator was no longer working for the company. Jeffery later corrected that, placing Suzuki in a Creative Officer role.

While Shenmue fans should really have given up hope of seeing Shenmue III a long, long time ago, we'd have to think that those still holding a candle for a third chapter should extinguish those hopes. Yes, Suzuki is still a Sega man, but it seems his creative influence is becoming increasingly, let's say, selective.

A quick update
Hey Everyone. First off, thank you all for all the support.
We are happy to be a part of such a dedicated bunch of fans, united in getting SEGA to bring us Shenmue III.

Right, There has been a lack of updates lately. Partly because there is no news. But also because we have all had so much to do. For my part, I have been studying hard and i'm currently in the middle of a 2 week exam. Right after that i'm of to Germany.

The folder project is still going well, there is only some stuff that needs to be added, but has constantly been pushed back due to more content being sent in.

It will be finished when I come back.

Stay Tuned!

Quick update!
Unless you have been living under a rock, you might have noticed that there hasn’t been a lot of news lately. There are two reasons for this. 1, There are no Shenmue news. 2, we are in a busy periode. For my own sake, I have school, and right now we are finishing a tough periode of exams and handins.

BUT! Before this year is over, the ShenmueCampaign Folder Project will be finished and all your letters, pictures ect will be sent come Jan. 09.
Keep your hopes up!
